Salesforce Trailhead - Lightning Experience Reports & Dashboards Specialist - Build Sales Reports
This blog describes the experience of the Superbadge with some details of problems faced. As per rules, no solution steps can be discussed on this blog and its comments.
Challenge 3 - Sales Reports
A stumble at the start of the trail itself. The setup and cleanup is pretty simple to complete. Let me know if you get stuck on those steps. It is the sales report that caught me out - Accounts without SolarBot Opportunities.
First of all, check if your Accounts list contains this "Sample Account for Entitlements". That needs to be deleted. This help article from Salesforce will show you the steps - How to Delete the "Sample Account for Entitlements" Account (salesforce.com)
Even after following all the correct steps for this report, if it keeps getting stuck on the error -
Error message: The 'Accounts Without SolarBot Opportunities' report doesn't include the correct collection of accounts.
If you are confident you have the correct list of accounts appearing in your report, just delete the report and recreate it. I played around for a long time with the same report changing filters and columns, and even though I was getting a correct report dataset, the challenge kept failing.
As soon as I deleted and recreated the report with the exact same cross filter, it just let me through. There was no need to waste hours on this one. Write in the comments where you are stuck and what you tried.
Challenge 4 - Support Reports
Just a small hiccup on the Status report. Need to remember how averages are calculated in reports and when you are showing averages for the date, there is no need for details and no need for any kind of cumulative data for this report. Cleared the step in record time. Pat on the back!
Challenge 5 - R&D Report
No challenge at all. Passed at first attempt. You know how to bucket columns and how to get averages with no other details or summarizations. Piece of cake!
Challenge 6 - Executive Report
This is going very smoothly. Had to think a bit about the Adjusted Expected Revenue and ensure to summarize the Actual for comparison, but overall, very smooth sailing.
Challenge 7 - Update Existing Reports
It feels like a SuperBadge only if it makes you sweat. After some easy peasy hikes, comes a wander in the woods.
For Sales report updates, when you select date range within next 45 days, make sure it does exactly that.
For Support Report updates, there are checkboxes called Open and Closed to show the status of the case and the graph needs to be of a particular type to show the proportion (hint: stacked to 100%)
You have to create a new page. Suffice it to say that this came as a lightning bolt. I created a record page but that was not what was required.
Challenge 8 - Dashboards
This section was pretty simple to follow and the components to be used are very obvious from the instructions.
Challenge 9 - Usability
This section is just fun and games. Just make sure to know that dashboard filters need to be checked on all components as well to ensure they are using the same field.
