Salesforce Trailhead - Billing Specialist super badge - The Invisible Bear
Having already attempted the Process Automation Specialist super badge, I knew that a super badge on the Salesforce Trailhead is not something that one attempts lightly. One does not come out of the experience the same person as ventured in. It is an oft frustrating, head-banging experience as you are out of the familiar arena of trailhead projects, challenges and quizzes. This is where you leave the safety net and step into the near real-world scenario and use cases. With simulated real-world users giving you requirements in non-salesforce lingo.
So, attempting the Billing Specialist super badge at the end of my first two weeks on Trailhead, I knew I was up against a biggie. I was pretty convinced to follow every step and pre-step instruction given to me.
I found this discussion forum to be super useful in attempting this SuperBadge.

The very first step is to sign up for the free Developer Edition org with Salesforce Billing and Salesforce CPQ.
I set about doing this and happily completed the first challenge earning me 100 points. Salesforce Billing and Salesforce CPQ installed.
Then I went looking for the objects where I could go about configuring stuff for the second challenge. And promptly ran into the Invisible Bear. Where is the consumption schedule? I can see it in the Object Manager, but I do not see the object in Salesforce CPQ. The Invisible Bear was not to be found in answers or help or any of the ancient scrolls that I looked up. Though references and glimpses of the Invisible Bear were to be found all over the place.
I will spare you all the details of the blind alleys I explored in search of my Invisible Bear and move straight to the Aha! moment.
(UPDATE: After going through the answers on salesforce community, I realize that the package is available in Lightning too. For some reason, the install that I have runs only in Classic. Will update more if and when I find out why.)
(MORE UPDATES: I installed a new DE and this one has Billing in Lightning! Yayy!! It also means I am doing the steps for the super badge again! Not so Yayy!!!)

The installation step I followed meant that I had installed the CPQ and Billing package, but configured only the CPQ package to Enable Usage Based Pricing and Enable Multiple Orders.
So onwards to configure the Billing package, but it does not work in Lightning Experience. You need to switch to Classic to configure the Billing Package.

Head over to the Installed Packages in Setup, find your Billing Package and click on Configure. Set up any particular attributes as you need them and under 'Additional Settings' click on 'Insert Sampledata'.
If your DE org is correctly set up, you should be able to see the SolarBot and Solar Panels in your Products object. You will also see Salesforce Billing and Salesforce Billing Configuration in the app launcher menu.
So the way to tackle the Invisible Bear for Salesforce Billing is to switch to Classic!
